A leading global surf brand born in Bells Beach, Australia in 1969, Rip Curl maintains a strong affinity with surfers and Aussie beach culture. Sydney’s pre-eminent northern city beach. Manly Beac is popular with locals, day-trippers, and tourists alike and is home to Rip Curl’s high-profile location within The Corso. The Corso’s iconic pedestrian-friendly retail strip connects Manly Beach with the Ferry Wharf and with complementary and competing retail nearby, Rip Curl needed its renovated store to truly shine.
High Lighting Standards to Meet
To capitalise on one of their best foot-traffic sites in the country Rip Curl needed to enhance its visual appeal, further attracting customers to increase its share of market. The recent renovation of the store included a redesigned and elevated specification of the lighting scheme, to enhance the visual appeal and create a more inviting atmosphere for customers. As a certified B-corporation, the team at Rip Curl had high lighting standards to meet, requiring the lighting provider to thoroughly push the sustainability credentials of any installation.
Exceeding Expectations
Made from bio-circular material, and recyclable at end of life, the Philips MyCreation Accent Track met and exceeded sustainability expectations. The Philips MyCreation Accent Track improved customer experience as well as address the company’s circularity requirements. With a high spec CRI90 colour rendering index, low glare and outstanding efficacy, there was no compromise that had to be made between performance and environmental consciousness. A sleek, compact appearance and integrated hinge made the fitting perfect or highlighting clothing racks and displays in store.
Sustainability without sacrificing quality
Philips MyCreations Accent Track luminaires provided Rip Curl Manly with a lighting solution that supported their sustainability commitments without sacrificing lighting quality. The fittings could be manufactured locally, reducing freight carbon emissions and supporting manufacturing in Australia. Additionally, this iconic store on The Manly Corso now has a fresh new look, befitting a brand with Rip Curl’s pedigree.
