Printing local and on-demand
Our production is set up to produce on-demand. Our operation is focused on reducing CO₂ emissions and mitigating material scarcity.
Our production process operates on an on-demand basis, ensuring short production lead times. As a result, we are able to eliminate the need for holding stock of finished products, which mitigates the risk of having unsold inventory. This approach not only minimizes inefficient capital, energy, and material usage, but also eliminates the need for maintaining a warehouse facility.
Also, our production is highly automated and end-to-end digitalized. We leverage advanced software to thoroughly control the entire supply chain.
Carbon neutral operations
We are committed to reducing our carbon footprint and have achieved carbon neutrality in our operations and transitioned to using 100% renewable electricity in all our manufacturing sites since 2020.
We are constantly looking for ways to reduce our electricity consumption and have implemented measures such as using local windmills and solar panels for renewable electricity generation. By doing so, we reduce our reliance on non-renewable energy sources.
Towards zero production waste
For our production we have a dedicated program called “towards zero production waste.” We have put in place measures to improve yield and minimize waste, but there is always some leftover.
We recycle in-house by chopping leftover filament to create new filament and we have also recently installed a granulator to shred and reuse waste such as rejected parts that didn’t pass our quality control. By doing so we have minimal waste going to landfill.
Using fewer components
Thanks to the advancements in 3D printing technology and design rules, we are now able to seamlessly incorporate multiple functions into a single component.
For instance, we can integrate strain relief directly into the housing of a luminaire, eliminating the need for two screws and a separate plastic part in the assembly process.
As a result, our products require up to 40% fewer components compared to similar products manufactured using traditional methods¹.
